Tutu Rural Training Centre (TRTC) continues to uphold its commitment to ongoing monitoring, learning, and evaluation of former graduates. This continuous engagement ensures that the lessons learned at Tutu remain alive in the communities and contribute meaningfully to food security and sustainable livelihoods.
Through the Na Bula Yaga Program, TRTC’s post-training support and monitoring framework, many former participants are putting into practice the values and skills they gained during their formation. One inspiring example is Mr. Kositatino Bulavakarua, a former Young Farmer who has transformed his learning into action.
Kositatino integrates the principles of food security and agroforestry—two key pillars of TRTC’s approach—into his daily farming life. His farm now stands as a living example of regeneration learning in motion. By combining traditional knowledge with modern sustainable farming practices, he has been able to run his farm as a growing enterprise while maintaining ecological balance.
The success of Kositatino and many others highlights the strength of the Na Bula Yaga framework, which connects TRTC’s formation programs with real-world outcomes. It reflects the spirit of self-reliance, stewardship of the land, and community-based development that lies at the heart of TRTC’s mission.
As TRTC continues to accompany its graduates, stories like Kositatino’s affirm that the seeds planted at Tutu continue to grow—rooted in faith, nurtured by learning, and flourishing in service to the vanua.

Yawa sara ga. This can be the beginning of greater things to come and the hope to influence others to make good use of what they freely have. We cannot continue to look to higher academic standards or overseas employment to get our pockets filled. The means can be right before our eyes just waiting to reveal the hidden treasures they hold, not gold or silver but the very soil we stand on.
